Pigtail
Back to all categoriesA fiber optic pigtail is a short, usually unjacketed, single-fiber cable that has a factory-installed connector on one end and exposed bare fiber on the other. It acts as a bridge between fiber optic cables in the field and active equipment or patch panels. The bare end is typically fusion-spliced or mechanically spliced to a fiber cable, while the connectorized end plugs into a fiber management device, such as an ODF (Optical Distribution Frame), fiber terminal box, or splice tray.
